Our Lady of Sorrows Basilica will celebrate its

60th Anniversary on December 8th 2015

There will be the installation of the Papal Bull
OLS a Basilica at a 7:00 Mass

*April 30, 2016 there will be a 5:00 pm
followed by a 5:30 MASS continuing the 60th
Anniversary Celebration

*May 1st. 2016 there will be a "Anniversary
11:00 AM till 4:00 PM

We are looking for sponsors for the Anniversary Brunch

*September 18, 2016 will be will be the Our
Lady of Sorrows "Feast Day" Mass at 10:30
with Fall Concert

*November 20th, 2016 will be the closing of the  
"Eternal Gift"

Ministers of Praise,                           September, 2015

Dear OLS Ministers of Praise,

Happy September! We praise God for ALL in our Parish Community.
Pray for the safety of Pope Francis as he visits the USA this month.

Holy Spirit, we pray for the conversion of our world to Peace and
Justice according to the Gospels. We consecrate our West Side of
Chicago to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of
Mary. Pray for the end to crime and drug selling near us. Pray
Archbishop Blase's daily intentions. Pray for the Synod on the
Family in Rome this October.

Pray for all who need jobs and good health care, especially our
veterans. Pray with St. Peregrine for all, who have serious illness,
cancer, for their caregivers, doctors, nurses and staff. Please God
nurture all life and creation. Pray for all, who are on our Parish sick
list and all Servites in the world today.

Pray in thanksgiving for all volunteers here at OLS. Pray for all of
our sharing Parishes and benefactors.

Pray for the well-being of all our Parishioners. Pray for all your own
special intentions. Pray for the good start of school and our
Religious Ed program this month.

Thank you God for all of our Parishioners and Friends, who are true

Our Lady of Sorrows National Basilica and National Shrine....... News

Over one hundred visitors and piligrims have signed the
guest book in the Basilica the past few months.
It is so encouraging to see how many of these visitors
come from far away places and include Our Lady of
Sorrows during their stay in the Chicago area. For
example, visitors came from Wichita, KS; Winston-Salem,
NC; San Mateo, CA; Mesa, AZ; El Paso, TX; Padua, Italy;
Meriden, CT; Castlebar Mayo, Ireland; Canonsburg, PA.
These are just a few places.

Some visitors also left comments such as: "Beautiful;"
"Beautiful and welcoming;" "Old parishioners; came back
for a visit and wonderful as always;"  "Beautiful
sanctuary....thank you for opening it to the public;" "I feel
blessed by my visit."

Pilgrims from Blessed Trinity Catholic Church in Lodi
Wisconsin came to the Basilica on August 6th. Future
pilgrims and tour groups will be visiting from Mundelein
Seminary, Park Community Church, Corpus Christi parish
pilgrimage, Catholic Women's Club of Lake County
pilgrimage, St. Robert Bellarmine parish pilgrimage, Girl
Scout Mass and Tour, Faith, Hope, and Charity School
Mass and tour.

Tour groups, pilgrim groups, school communities,
parishes may schedule a tour or pilgrimage by contacting
the director of the Basilica, Fr. Frank Falco, O.S.M. at
773-638-0159 ext 102. You may also receive the quarterly
Shrine Newsletter by requesting it either by regular mail
or contacting the Shrine office.
